JOB TITLE: PROGRAMME SUPPORT WORKER
JOB PURPOSE: The role links closely with our support and encouragement
of more diverse workplaces as well as inclusive recruitment practices.
REPORTING TO: Employment Programmes Coordinator
JOB LOCATION: 3rd Floor, Phibsborough Tower, Phibsborough Road, Dublin

SSE is Ireland's second largest and fastest growing energy provider,

domestic and commercial gas, electricity and home energy services
customers in the Republic and Northern Ireland.
SSE Airtricity and Business in the Community Ireland are recommencing
the SSE WORKS EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME, modelled on SSE?s Youth
Employability programme which has been running in Scotland in
partnership with Barnardos. This year the programme will focus on
individuals who identify as having a disability or health issue. While
unemployment is currently at a rate of 6% this rises to **Apply on the
website**% for those that identify as having a disability or health
issue.
THE ROLE:
The role will support the running of the SSE Works Employment
Programme. This programme supports individuals who identify as having
a health issue or disability progress into customer service based
roles as part of the SSE inclusive recruitment practices.
The roles requires promotion of the programme amongst relevant
referral agencies ? Local Employment Services (LES) / Intreo /
Disability Services. Provision of guidance and support to referral
services on client identification. Tracking of applicants and
arranging of registration meetings to assess suitability for the
programme. Preparing clients for participating in SSE recruitment
assessments. Supporting clients going forward on the programme.
Supporting the co-ordinator on programme delivery
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Co-develop and implement a plan to engage with participants onto
the programme.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to deliver
maximum benefit to programme participants.
* Support the programme co-ordinator to achieve programme
objectives, including project reporting.
* Maintain and increase the social media presence of the BITC
employment programmes
* Organise events for the employment programmes and represent the
employment programmes at relevant events.
* Perform such other duties as appropriate to the post that may be
assigned to you by the Programme coordinator from time to time.
* Contribute positively to the employment programme team and to
Business in the Community.
* Actively promote equality of opportunity, anti-discriminatory

* Ensure resources are used efficiently, effectively and
economically.
* Monitor own performance; trends analysis / internal controls
* Provide timely and comprehensive management information,
statistics and reports.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to connect with multiple stakeholders ? business,
referral agencies and programme participants.
* Attention to detail ? ability to track incoming queries, follow
up as required and keep detailed recorded of applicants and their
progression.
* Understanding of the challenges faced by those who are
marginalized from the labour market due to health issues / disability
* Ability to identify suitability of candidates for the programme,
adhering to guidelines set out by BITCI / SSE
* Able to identify additional supports that clients may require /
reasonable accommodations
* Feedback requirements to SSE to ensure positive recruitment
experience for applicants
* Good communicator who can display empathy whilst identifying
suitable programme candidates. Ability to clearly communicate with
referral agencies.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* 1 to 2 years? experience working with individuals who may have
been disadvantaged or marginalized from the labour market.
The role is expected to be 2 days per week in August and September and
1 day per week in October.
